WATER QUALITY TESTING:AMMONIA

Image
It is vital to check the ammonia level in your fish tank because if ammonia levels are allowed to get too high, this can have a detrimental effect on your tank inhabitants. Ammonia is a by-product of fish waste and is highly toxic. High levels can be caused by over feeding, too many fish, or as part of the cycling of a new tank.  Doc Gel lend us the ammonia test kit, it contains 3 solutions and 1 with powder. 5 ml of water from the fish tank should be collected then 5 drops from each solution will be mixed with the water. Lastly, a pinch of powder will be mixed then wait for 10 minutes to see the results. Result should be compared with the color chart. The normal ammonia levels should be 0 ppm. ANGEL FISH TANK SET-UP

Image
Final set up Sooooooo........ I removed all the colored pebbles and added more white pebbles. I also removed the plastic decorationa. I placed a drift wood with moss. The drift wood was given by my friend (Tipid ulit HAHAHA) Then I bought some moss (50 pesos) and a plant (350 pesos) that is fine even if it's not planted in a soil. It doesn't look crowded anymore and it became spacious. I would call my tank simple but elegant. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

1st aquarium set-up This was the 1st set up of my aquarium. I borrowed this aquarium from a friend because it has a built in light and aerator. (Tipid tipid din HAHA) Our prof saw it and made a comment to remove or lessen the decorations because I have four medium sized angel fish and because the decorations are made from plastic. (SAY NO TO PLASTIC by DOC GEL)

The fish that I chose is the Angel fish, not just because they are easy to care but also because of their graciously flowing fin and shimmering body that is relaxing to watch in a tank with sufficient lighting. This fish has long life span so that is why they make an excellent choice for many home hobbyist.
