WATER QUALITY TESTING:AMMONIA

It is vital to check the ammonia level in your fish tank because if ammonia levels are allowed to get too high, this can have a detrimental effect on your tank inhabitants. Ammonia is a by-product of fish waste and is highly toxic. High levels can be caused by over feeding, too many fish, or as part of the cycling of a new tank.

Doc Gel lend us the ammonia test kit, it contains 3 solutions and 1 with powder. 5 ml of water from the fish tank should be collected then 5 drops from each solution will be mixed with the water. Lastly, a pinch of powder will be mixed then wait for 10 minutes to see the results. Result should be compared with the color chart. The normal ammonia levels should be 0 ppm.
